A New Anti-Aliasing Algorithm for Computer Graphics Images
This paper presents an area-filtering algorithm for antialiasing technique of computer graphics images. It can be applied to low-resolution image, which the aliasing effect is more visible. Unlike supersampling technique, which costs too much to do well, this technique is simple and suitable for VLSI implementation. Without changing the current PC-based graphics-hardware architecture, this ‘tec...
متن کاملOnline algorithm for the self-organizing map of symbol strings
In this work an online algorithm is presented for the construction of the self-organizing map (SOM) of symbol strings. Each node of the SOM grid is associated with a model string which is a variable-vector sequence. Smooth interpolation method is applied in the training which performs simultaneous adaptation of the symbol content and the length of the model string. The efficiency of the method ...
متن کاملNon-Sampled Anti-Aliasing
In this paper we present a parallel method for high-quality edge anti-aliasing in rasterization. In contrast to traditional graphics hardware methods, which rely on massive oversampling to combat aliasing issues, we evaluate a closed-form solution of the associated prefilter convolution. This enables the use of a wide range of filter functions with arbitrary kernel sizes, as well as general sha...
متن کاملSimplified MAP Algorithm Suitable for Implementation of Turbo Decoders
A simplification of the MAP decoder for use in turbo decoders is presented. The simplification eliminates the need for a ROM or multiplexor-tree lookup table and replaces it with a constant value. Simulations show that the performance of turbo decoders is not adversely affected by this simplification.
متن کاملFilter basics: anti-aliasing - AN928
In a sampled data system, frequency components greater than half the sampling rate "alias" (shift) into the frequency band of interest. Most of the time, aliasing in an undesirable side effect, so the "undersampled" higher frequencies are simply filtered out before the A/D stage. But sometimes, the undersampling is deliberate and the aliasing causes the A/D system to function as a mixer. This a...
